My quest as a landscape and nature photographer is to showcase wild, beautiful & unique natural locations and to use my creative vision to capture those landscapes in high quality and evocative images that inspire awe in the viewer, respect for the natural world and ultimately a greater appreciation of wilderness and wilderness preservation.
As a passionate landscape and nature photographer, my mission is to capture the wild, beautiful, and unique places of the natural world through high-quality, evocative imagery. My goal is to inspire awe, foster respect for the environment, and promote a deeper appreciation for wilderness and its preservation.
I have co-authored two acclaimed books on nature photography: The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography and 50 Amazing Things You Must See and Do in the Greater D.C. Area: The Ultimate Outdoor Adventure Guide (both published by Mountain Trail Press). My work has been featured in numerous prominent publications, including Outdoor Photographer, Popular Photography, The Nature Conservancy, The Smithsonian Natural History Museum, Wild & Wonderful West Virginia, Backpacker Magazine, and many others.
I am available for assignment work and can translate your organization's vision into a compelling photographic portfolio for publication. If you're interested in collaborating, please reach out via the Contact Form to discuss your project.
Spending an average of 180 days a year in the field, I dedicate my time to chasing the perfect light and leading photography workshops and tours across the United States and abroad. I also teach online courses on the art of nature and landscape photography and host monthly webinars focusing on digital processing techniques in the "digital darkroom."
Thank you for taking the time to view my work. I look forward to sharing the beauty of the natural world with you!
